Sword for senior officers and generals from the 1ST EMPIRE period with an older blade, known as "COLICHEMARDE" (made fashionable by the Koengsmark regiment in 1671-1688) signed "THOMAS AYLA" in TOLEDE. XVII° - XVIII°. Brass frame with pommel decorated with a crown of foliage, tilted forward. Ebony spindle with vertical grooves with strips of seed friezes at the 4 angles (uncommon). Joining arch with macaron, spears, helmet, drum in the center on both sides, see photos. Keyboard reduced to two dragons reversed, spitting flames, separated by a plumed helmet. Beaded border, reed and olive branch. Older blade with a colichemarde bearing in its gutter on both sides, the inscription and hallmark of "THOMAS AYLA" in TOLEDO, SPAIN. Square section blade in the 1st third towards the heel then in a diamond shape with 4 sides on the rest of the length.
