In its original frame in wood and gilded stucco. Very good state. Dimensions: With frame: 126.5 x 100 cm At sight: 70 x 92 cm --- Louis Auguste Lapito (1803-1874) Painter of landscapes, watercolourist, miniaturist. Entered the studio of Louis Watelet at the age of 15, then was a pupil of François Heim. Exhibited at the Paris Salon between 1827 and 1870, obtaining a second class medal in 1833, a first class in 1835. From 1843 he participated in the exhibitions of the Living Masters in Holland. Painted views of France, Switzerland, Italy, Corsica, Germany and Holland. His landscapes in fresh, luminous colors, with precise details, are painted according to compositions which are similar to those of the painters of Barbizon.
