Beautiful set of knives with mother-of-pearl handle and silver ferrules from the Second Empire period. This set includes: -18 table knives (1 damaged and 4 glued) -18 cheese knives (1 damaged) -17 fruit knives (silver blades with neck brace) The original blades with rounded tips (Richelieu) are in steel and have been chromed. All of these 53 knives are presented in their original case, which has also been carefully restored. The steel blades bear the dealer's mark "Mouniot à Nantes" The silver blades bear the hallmark of Charles Lavallée, cutlery specialist installed at 19 bd de Strasbourg in Paris and whose hallmark was inscribed on March 22, 1861.
