Imposing sculpture circa 1935 by Renzo Brioshi. It is strongly influenced by American Art Deco artists. Born in 1910, Renzo Brioschi was primarily influenced by the 1920s. Notable innovations formed in the early years of the 20th century were further developed in the 1920s and 1930s. This period began the careers of many innovative and inspiring practitioners in the pictorial arts. However, it was a period of reflection after the horrors of World War I, and major political changes took place across the world. The philosophy of Marxism was widespread among communities and groups of artists. Established in 1919, the Bauhaus became an indispensable place for the development of ideas concerning the unification of art, craftsmanship and design - an idea known as Gesamtkunstwerk.
