18th Century Pair of Italian Louis XV Carved Giltwood Armchairs

The elegant pair of armchairs was made in Turin, Italy, around the middle of the eighteenth century, Louis XV.
Each armchair is in golden wood and sculpted with typical decorations of the rocaille called "pannocchietta".The backrest, of polite proportions and not very large, has wavy and mixed sides. It culminates with a rich decoration with plant motifs that is taken up on the lower side with an asymmetrical moulding that enhances the movement and dynamism of the ornaments. The armrests are moved and end in a curl before connecting with the seat. The band under the seat and the legs, moved and arched, are sculpted proposing the type of rocaille ornament with phytomorphic elements.
The pair of armchairs, lined in green silk, is very elegant and beautiful proportions, easily adaptable in any environment, exposed in pairs or individually. The brilliance of gold, enhanced by the rich carving, makes each armchair suitable for both antique furniture and contemporary furniture.
