"Pair Of Gilded And Patinated Bronze Candelabras. French Restauration. "
Stunning pair of gilded and patinated bronze candelabras, featuring a winged Cupid. He is standing on a sphere and holding a torch, which is surrounded by three curving candle branches. The branches are decorated with flowers and scrolling foliage, and they are symmetrically interspaced around the central stem which is topped with a flame. The candle sockets are engraved with scales. The piece is supported by a vase-shaped stem decorated with scales and palms, all of which rests on a square, ormolu plinth. Original gilt.
