Dan Mask (yacouba-yakuba-da-gio-gio/dan)

Masks are Dan's most important art form. Many other forms of sculpture derive from the mask and what the mask symbolizes. More masks are digitally created than any other form of sculpture.

This mask has delicate proportions, the sensitive face with feather beard attached to the pointed chin under the full and open protrusion of the lips with prominent filter and naturalistic nose framed by circular eyes and slightly oblique forehead, adorned in the eyes with metal hoop and small nails; aged fine dark brown surface.
The wood of this mask is dated 1945 +/- 6 from the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Milan, an instrument that, with stylistic expertise, can determine its authenticity and great value.
