"Portrait Of Rooster With Trimmed Feathers, 18th Century Circle Of John Nost Sartorius (1759-1830)"
Portrait Of A Rooster With Trimmed Feathers, 18th Century circle of John Nost SARTORIUS (1759-1830) Large 18th century English study of a rooster in a farmyard, oil on canvas. Superb quality and rare study of early farm birds in excellent original and unrestored condition. Most likely by Sartorius who also painted a 1777 fighting cock called "Dauntless" belonging to George Wyndham, Earl of Egremont which is distinctly similar in style and composition to this work and this study may be another of the prized birds of the Earls. Later framed with incorrect plaque. Provenance: A private collector in London Measurements: 70cm x 60cm framed approx.
