"Sainte-anne-en-tierce Flanders XVth Century"
Our Trinitarian Sainte-Anne, sometimes called Sainte-Anne-en-tierce is a Christian iconographic theme. This is a devotional image associating Grandmother Anne, Mother Mary and the Child Jesus. This theme takes off from the middle of the 14th century until the beginning of the 16th. On this sculpture, the faces are magnificent, especially Anne with her wimple. The virgin with the serene face and the baby Jesus with his curly hair give this set an exceptional charm. Flanders late 15th century
