"Horse "angelo" Surprised By A Dog, Bronze By Pierre Lenordez (1815-1892)"
Very beautiful sculpture with a shaded brown patina representing "Angelo" titled on the terrase, a saddled thoroughbred horse, surprised by a dog. The finish of this piece is magnificent, we can see tiny protrusions, pre-existing in the model of the horse due to re-chiselling after casting. The horse is splendidly rendered, very high on elongated legs, head down, powerful body. The hooves are well marked, the harness very detailed. But the dog has nothing to envy him, its body mass is as individualized as the horse's. It is a rather strong animal, solid, its neck proves its power enough. The two animals are complementary, discovering each other. This is not just an anecdote in the guise of a charming subject, it is also a sculpted duo whose protagonists are partners. Signature on the terrace, P.Lenordezand signature of the founder Boyer
