Object description :

"Paris 1798-1809, Silver-gilt Cup With Griffins From Directoire Consulat By Marc Jacquart"
Gilded silver cup in antique style resting on a double ring chiselled with scales on a pedestal decorated with a laurel torus, the body finely chiseled in amati with a cartouche framed by palmettes, flowers and foliage. The winding handles ending in two confronting griffin heads.

Superb illustration of late 18th century antique style goldsmithing. This piece is in its perfect integrity, not repolished with its original vermeil of very good quality.

Condition report :
Very good original condition, only some signs of age to the vermeil.



MARC JACQUART

Marc JACQUART is a Parisian silversmith who worked between 1794 and 1829. He specializes in beautiful and refined table silverware. Located at number 1 rue du Petit-Pont, in 1806 it moved into the prestigious Hôtel d'Aligre at number 123 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.
