Telse Schnelle-Cölln is a German painter, color theorist at the origin of “optical rhetoric”. She was interested in the works of Henri Matisse, Max Bill and Victor Vasarely, whom she met. In addition to oil paintings and watercolors, she also made sculptures and paintings on plaster. She also became interested in the decorative arts, drawing patterns for carpets and making glass mosaics for windows, doors and mirrors. In her last years she mainly devoted herself to the technique of collage on paper.
