"Mahogany Pedestal Empire Period"
Elegant pedestal table in mahogany and mahogany veneer from the Empire period. Mounted on three castors and ball feet, the triangular base with concave ribs supports the central foot turned into a "cannon barrel" inlaid with ebony fillets. It is topped with an octagonal top in which is set a white marble. The set is adorned with a quarter of a brass ring. It is close to the Jacob-Desmalter pedestal table on which Napoleon signed his act of abdication. Easily transportable, this type of pedestal table could serve as a lunch table. Parisian work circa 1805-1810.
