Exceptional and important portal clock in marble and gilt bronze, signed Armingaud l'ainé in Paris, circa 1780.
Enamel dial with Roman numerals, gilt brass hands Louis XVI.
Movement in gilded brass, with anchor escapement, wire suspension, striking the hours and a half on passage on a gong. Eight days of power reserve. Magnificent case in white marble and gilded bronzes in near new condition, richly decorated with two characters, foliage and draperies. (the gilding is superb, and completely original)
