Manufacture Vieux Paris
Soup tureen and nativity scene
Porcelain cm 15 x 16 x 32
This small soup tureen with a porcelain display has a very fine floral decoration with blue colored bands and gold profile decorations. The artist's attention seems to be focused on the floral motifs; each composition is indeed unique, made up of several combinations of finely reproduced flowers. The whole is elegantly distributed by thin bands of light blue color, decorated with light brushstrokes that move the surface. Delicate and executed with extreme mischief are the decorative patterns and gold-colored profiles that complete the decor. This porcelain is to be identified as Old Paris or Old Paris, with this term they are called the porcelains executed by skilled Parisian artisans from the mid-18th century to the end of the 19th century. All the pieces have in common the extreme elegance and finesse of the decor which make them a highly coveted collector's item. Flowers, landscapes, geometric patterns, fruits, famous people, pure gold elements are the most used decorative motifs that can be found on the most diverse objects, from dishes to tea sets, trays with flowerpots.
