Galanti Outdoor Scenes French School 1700
Pair of paintings, measuring 76 x 98 cm without frame and 82 x 104 cm with frame, depicting two gallant scenes en plein air, from the French school of the mid-18th century, with an elegant chromatic impact with light and warm tones that they mix with the peace and tranquility of the rural world.
In this couple we can see the typical themes of Rococo or the winking gazes, the triumph of flowers and draped drapes, all made and visible in a really fine and delightful way thanks to a skilful use of colors that inundate the works in question with decorative richness; however, analyzing the faces of the protagonists, the grace and gracefulness of the looks and gestures we can see how we want to tell an aesthetic that is not only "ethical", but also the attempt to express through the sensitivity of emotions, sometimes courtly and sometimes more frivolous, this freedom of decoration and this gracefulness of colors, an essential part of French Rococo painting.
