Originally from the Caucasus, Armenia or Georgia, and from the 18th century to the beginning of the 19th century.
This beautiful object is divided into five parts:
# A foot heavily worked with a Caucasian frieze called "the running dog" and ears of wheat constituting the top part of the dome-shaped foot.
# A barrel with several rings and engraved with Kufic inscriptions.
# A large multi-lobed dish, decorated with flowers and Kufic inscriptions.
# A barrel ending the whole surmounted by a bobèche engraved for the two pieces of crosses, various friezes and Kufic inscriptions.
The set is in solid bronze and weighs 3 kgs 768 grs and is fixed by two large and strong threads.
Beautiful patina of use and very good condition.
