"Khanjar Ottoman"
It is a quality Ottoman Khandjar, dating from the second half of the 18th century, or the very first years of the 19th.BLADEbeautiful smith's work, 2cutting edged blade, thick, decorated in relief.
Blade length = 34 cm, width near the handle 2.9 cm, thickness near the handle, approximately 6 mm
HILT : made up of 2 bone plates, held by white metal rivets. Between the bone plates, a strip of chiseled metal (perhaps low-grade silver?)
SCABBARD : It is made of wood covered with leather. It is possibly a later replacement, but if so, it perfect matches with the weapon. I
t is therefore a beautifully crafted Ottoman Khandjar, not very common on the market, in good condition.
