Covered cup on pedestal in embossed silver. The circular base with projection is decorated with pearls and a frieze of elongated leaves. The body is globular, streamlined and entirely chiseled with a rotating decoration of acanthus leaves, rosettes, flowering stems and flowers arranged in bouquets on a matte background given by the guilloché. The lid rising like an ogee, crowned by a small dome, repeats the same decorative ornament with at the top a socket in the shape of a swan with outstretched wings. 950/1000 silver, special hallmark on works intended for export. This piece was made by Parisian master silversmith Pierre-Henry Favier around 1850 / Favier silversmiths were famous manufacturers of ecclesiastical silver works from 1824 to 1976.
