English Travel Pharmacy Box - About 1860

Beautiful mahogany box with brass retractable handle, lock with key.
Engraved plaque of the practitioner Murley and the English druggist Thomas Keating, suppliers and retailers of pharmaceutical products in London.
Cabinet lined inside with green felt, 2 opening flaps reveal 18 rectangular compartments for storing bottles of pharmaceutical powders. The two flaps open into a main compartment with, in its upper part, 5 larger rectangular compartments for bottles and, in its lower part, 4 drawers with fine turned ivory handles for storing utensils and prescriptions issued by the apothecary. This pharmacy also has a double bottom accessible by a sliding panel (opened by a small lever inside), this double bottom offers 5 compartments containing wooden boxes bearing printed labels of the Pharmacist Reymond, rue du Faubourg St Honoré in Paris.
This box is made up of disparate items from various 19th century French pharmacists with 11 emery bottles bearing handwritten labels in French "alcool pur dénaturé, alcool camphré, essence d'Eucalyptus, Tymoline, etc." in the drawers: a brass trebuchet, a brass ounce, a glass pestle (without the mortar), sieves, various bottles, etc.
Similar model in Science Museum London inv. A196562: Medicine chest, with wing doors and drop front, contains bottles, and a few other pieces, by Keating and Murley, 79 St. Paul's Church Yard, London, England, 1841-1880.
