"47 Hâtelets Silver Plated Skewers Ornamental Dishes"
Collection of forty-seven hâtelets in silver dating from the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Skewers carved up the theme of the game, poultry, fish, fruits, etc., used to ornament the different dishes. We present them on a board of the book "Classical cuisine" by Urbain Dubois and Emile Bernard from 1876 which deals with the presentation of hâtelets ornamental hot and cold dishes with truffles, rooster combs, crayfish, vegetables turned . The hâtelets are used from the second half of the seventeenth century. This set of great diversity, is particularly rare because we find little pieces on the market. Some hâtelets this collection come from large houses such as the two largest adorning the table of Russian tsars.
