"Ceremonial Desk In Rosewood And Violet Wood, Louis XV Style - 2nd Half Nineteenth"
Elegant middle desk with movement in Louis XV style, composed of a harmonious structure in Bois de Rose and Bois de Violette. Its moving frame top has a Violet Wood border, enhanced by a profiled bronze molding and shell and scroll spandrels in each corner. Its original leather top, with cold vignette around its perimeter, has slight marks of time, which give this piece of furniture an authentic cachet. On the front, also eventful, this ceremonial desk opens with three drawers, the interior, sides and bottom of which are in oak: the one in the center is lined with a large entrance in Bronze with shell and foliage, while those at the ends are additionally embellished with a bronze handle. These drawers are equipped with an original lock in working order, as well as their key. The "rear" face is also dressed in the same bronze ornaments, for the sake of aesthetics and balance, given that the drawers are dummy. This desk rests on four curved legs, decorated in the upper part with a large bronze drop, and in the lower part with a clog of the same alloy. You will be charmed by the pleasant contrast of the Bois de Rose and Bois de Violette veneers, enhanced by the splendor and brilliance of the bronze fittings, which make this State Office a magnificent piece of furniture.
