"Blink Bonny, Color Engraving, Horse"
Magnificent and large colorized engraving representing Blink Bonny, famous English mare of the Victorian era. Blink Bonny (1854-1862) ran more than twenty Grand Prix and won 14 victories. She was one of six fillies to win the famous Derby. Ranked among the best racehorses of its time, it gave birth to three other great champions. She died prematurely in 1862. Her jockey, J. Charlton, then suffered from severe depression and died the same year as her beloved mare. Our engraving, with outsized dimensions, is in very good condition. It is presented under glass in a mahogany frame. This frame has some scratches (see photos of details) Dimensions engraving only, at the bowl: 74cm x 58cm
