"Very Nice Photograph From 1919 Representing A Young Japanese Woman In Official Kimono"
Very nice original print representing a young Japanese woman in an official kimono. Photograph dated and taken in 1919. Signature on the photo lower right: Shin Nishimura. With signature on "passe-partout" also lower right: Y.Shimiotzu and a red stamp. This rather formal kimono was often worn to attend official ceremonies. In Japan and abroad during official delegations. 1919 being the year of the Paris Peace Conference after the First World War, we can assume that this woman came with her husband to participate in the delegation of the Japanese government. Vintage photograph not glued and presented in corners on paper so as not to alter the work. The beveled "master key" creates additional protection. The whole is framed by a natural oak stick. Photographic support alone: 17 cm x 23 cm
