"Pair Of Transition Period Cabriolet Armchairs"
Pair of walnut armchairs resting on 4 fluted Louis XVI legs, rudentés and ending in circles carved in the dice of connections to the belts. The base included in the circular belt, does not present an angle unlike most seats of this period. The Louis XVI armrest consoles are fluted and rudentées like the legs. Only the scalloped backrest reminds us of the influence of the Louis XVI style. The high crosspiece of the backrest, like the belt crosspiece, are sculpted with an ample and generous Louis XVI knot. Certainly southern French work from the Transition period, circa 1770/1775. Width: 55cm. Depth: 57cm. Height: 94cm. Seat height: 45 cm. Good house condition, the fabric in good condition that can be a little faded in some places. Delivery possible worldwide on estimate.
