"Bronze Lamp, Japan Late Nineteenth Century."
This large lamp is oblong in shape, in bronze with brown patina, it is mounted with a strapping at the base resting on four claw feet. It is decorated around the perimeter, between two horizontal friezes, in a decor of flowering branches, with two birds, mythical Hôô birds also called phoenixes, messenger of peace and good omens. Of good size, the lamp measures 46 cm and 74 cm with its lampshade. Origin, Japan. Period, late 19th century.
