"Figure In Patinated Bronze Medal, Muse Of The Woods, After Henri-louis Levasseur"
Bronze sculpture with medal patina called "Muse des bois" after Henri-Louis Levasseur. It represents a young woman dressed in a tight drape revealing her forms. She wears a crown of oak leaves and her hair is tied behind her back. In her left hand, she holds an antique lyre made with a tortoise shell and goat horns. Her right arm outstretched in the air tells us that she is singing. The work is signed "A. Levasseur" on the terrace for Alexandre Levasseur (artist making copies of Henri Levasseur) and a cartouche overflowing on the foot titles "Muse of the woods by LEVASSEUR Hors concours".
