"Atypical Kidney Dressing Table In Solid Walnut, Louis XVI Style - Early Twentieth"
Kidney-shaped dressing table, in solid walnut, in the style of Louis XVI. It is equipped in its center with an Oval Duster with lateral legs carved in laurel wreaths ending in windings, and leafy central leg. It is surrounded by its two shutters of the same shape but of smaller dimensions. These can be folded down, independently, to the desired degrees, as they are held in place by brass hinges. The three Mirrors of this Triptych are cut obliquely on their peripheries. Their frames are embellished with beaded friezes around their edges and crowned with generous tied ribbons. Its bean-cut top is covered with an original fabric, predominantly yellow and with floral motifs, itself protected by a bevelled-edge glass. This dressing table opens with a drawer assembled in "Dovetails", concealed in the belt of the cabinet. We owe this effect to the frieze carved in spirals of the band which extends on its facade in an uninterrupted way. The set rests on four arched and molded legs, those of the front offering in the upper part a vegetal Decor. They are connected to each other by an openwork spacer with protruding edges. We will remember the Singularity of this Elegant Dressing Table, which could become THE Retro piece of a contemporary Bedroom.
