"Carved Table Way Cross Passion Christ Arma Christi Work Pontoon 19th"
Religious painting composed of characters in carved ox bone, representing the Stations of the Cross with attributes of the Passion (Arma Christi): at the top, Jesus carries the cross on his back, framed by 2 praying cherubs; below the Three Marys look at him; at the bottom various figures of the Crucifixion (soldiers with ladder...), pontoon work from the beginning of the 19th century. This set is in good condition and is of remarkable quality. Some characters in the lower part hold spears in spun glass from Nevers (perhaps added). It is a later reassembly on a wooden panel covered with velvet and embroidery elements (was originally to serve as the background for a crucifix). A note: head glued for a character (see red arrow), some wear of time, look carefully at the photos of details.
