The beautiful portrait of a nobleman against the background of a romantic landscape was created by the Austrian historical and genre painter Heinrich Stegmeyer, active in Vienna in the years 1797-1830. In 1797 and 1798 he received first and second prizes from the Vienna Academy.

Inscription: signed Heinrich Stegmeyer and dated 1834, lower right.
