"Transition Wall Console Louis XV Louis XVI In Golden Wood, Eighteenth Time"
Very beautiful Louis XV-Louis XVI Transition period wall console in carved wood and gilded with gold leaf. It rests on two arched and handsomely molded legs, with an entreoise bearing a bouquet of flowers with ribbon. The belt is openwork and adorned with a garland of foliage, flowers, staples, curves and counter curves. Openwork, curved and sculpted sides. We are at the very beginning of the Transition with a very Louis XV style but with some Louis XVI elements such as ribbon garlands of olive leaves... Old marble top but brought back to the 19th century. This rare old console table is presented to you in its found condition, some lack of wood (right acanthus of the front face), gilding altered in places and marble with old chippings on the sides. It is nevertheless a beautiful and very decorative piece of furniture. Period mid 18th century around 1760-1765.
