They most probably come from the Normandy region, rich in traditional jewellery from the 18th and 19th centuries. For a long time, Norman headdresses covered the ears of women, so that they did not wear earrings. When the shape of the headdress allowed it, they started to wear quite long articulated earrings, called "Poissardes".
This piece is exceptional in its perfect condition, which is rare for this type of jewellery. There is no breakage, no repairs. They are extremely light: each weighs 4.6 grams.
Because of their modern and historical aspect, they are very easy to wear with a sober, chic outfit (black dress and ballerinas, for example) or a casual one (jeans, white shirt and trainers).
