Enamel plate representing an allegory of Autumn. German, 17th century. An enamel plate representing an allegory of Autumn. German, second half of the 17th century. Measures 6.5 x 5.2 cm. Set in a posterior gold brooch setting. Figures can be seen in a field in the distance harvesting grapes, next to which a horse and cart wait to be loaded. While workers work in the fields, in the foreground next to a Roman temple, Bacchus drinks the fruit of their labor, the drunkard supported by a faun.
