Beautiful work by the French painter Maxime Noiré which represents a view of Tipaza in Algeria animated by a character. Through his palette of colors in warm tones, the artist was able to transcribe with talent the sunny atmosphere and the vegetation of the Algerian shore.
Born in Guinglange in Moselle, Maxime Noiré was a self-taught painter who moved to Algiers around 1882 for health reasons. He goes to southern Algeria, where he discovers the oases and the Aurès. He then moved to Bou-Saada.
In 1905, he was appointed official painter of the Navy and the Colonies. Maxime Noiré is one of the founders of the Society of Algerian and Orientalist Artists.
He participates in the creation and promotion of the Abd-el-Tif and Villa prizes. He exhibited in various exhibitions in Algeria and at the Salon des artistes français. His work was critically acclaimed and he established himself as a major figure among Orientalist painters.
Dimensions: 45 x 105 cm without frame and 73 x 130 cm with its beautiful orientalist frame in original carved wood.
