A family of gazelles (?) in glazed earthenware. The sculpture is in the art deco style with characteristic traits of synthetism and decorative form. Charles Lemanceau (1905-1980) was a French sculptor who graduated from the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1923 He participated in the Salon d'Automne of 1925, followed by many other exhibitions. He made monumental sculptures in stone and also designed many ceramic figures, the best known of which are those representing animals and executed in the art deco style.
