"Bronze Subject After Clodion On An Onyx Base"
Pretty bronze subject representing a bacchanalian scene representing a putti at the foot of a sheath surmounted by the bearded face wearing horns (possibly Priapus) with a satyr holding out a cup at his feet. Many details around the wine, vine leaf, bunch, overflowing vase. Beautiful finesse of the carving, feet and legs of the satyr's goat, faces, terrace.
Written Clodion on the back .
Beautiful dark patina very slightly worn, rests on an onyx base.
