"Art Deco Flat Desk, Ep. 1940 Stamped Maurice Alet"
Superb flat desk, from the art deco period in Macassar ebony, opening with 3 large drawers in front, mounted on 4 straight legs with movement, in blackened pear wood. Stamped by Maurice ALET 1874-1967. Coming from a family of merchants, Maurice Joseph Gaston ALET trained in the decorative arts with the talented artist Jean RIVIERE, at the School of Fine Arts in Toulouse from 1890. Bottom of the drawers in mahogany, original locks, 1 key for each drawer. Restored by our workshop, French polish.
