Tortoiseshell veneered and gilded bronze crucifix, 17th century
Little gilded bronze cornices are set on each end of the cross, the one on the top bearing a suspension ring. Christ is depicted alive with the head ornamented by a rayed nimbus. He wears a short perizonium knotted on right hip with a long flap. Titulus is on the upper part, and a mark of a nail on the lower part suggests that an Adam's skull was originally there.
Good overall condition. Gilding on bronze parts is a bit worn-out, tortoiseshell veneering on the top of right arm is missing, marks on tortoiseshell on the back (see pictures).
