Magnificent oil on cardboard representing an armful of flowers, red and pink roses springing from a Japanese vase placed at the corner of a wall on an entablature covered with a carpet with a red background with Japanese characters. An infinite and exceptional palette of colors with rich, highly contrasting tones, a background worked in reserves using the artist's usual technique, a perfectly mastered touch for this post-impressionist artist largely influenced by Fauvism. Signed lower left "H. Richebé". Dimensions: 65 cm x 50 cm (15 Landscape) and with its frame 82 cm x 67 cm Very good condition. The painter benefits from numerous references; he is notably listed in the BENEZIT, Dictionary of painters, sculptors, draftsmen and engravers as well as in the Alauzen dictionary of Provençal painters. Born in Algiers, his family returned to Marseille after the death of his father who disappeared while Horace was still a teenager. He first studied at the Beaux-arts in Marseille then in Paris in the studio of Jean-Léon Gérôme. He became curator of the Museum of Arles from 1924 to 1941. He won the Grand Prix de Rome.
