"A Roman Capital – Ionic Marble Column – Circa 2nd Century A.d."
A small Roman capital – Ionic column in marble – circa 2nd century AD
Double sided (2 roles - 4 volutes).

With elegant volutes and eggs between the two volutes.
A volute is an ornamental motif consisting of a winding in the form of spirals. It was used in architecture, especially in the capitals of Ionic columns.
Mounted on a round pillar (pillar is missing) at the bottom and rectangular at the top.

Diameter: 20cm Height: 6.5cm
