19th century primer counter from the 1870s, by J Bertrand & Cie mechanic in Lyon (France). Calculator and measuring device used by the French textile industry for determining the tensile strength of spun yarns, brass and steel construction, in a walnut case, dimensions: Length 84.5 cm, width 20 cm, thickness 9cm. Crank counter with 2 graduations, reset button present, brass manufacturer's plate in the cover. In good working order. Museum quality, rare scientific measuring and calculating device.
