Oil on wood. Annotated on the back "The mass of Joan of Arc celebrated in the Pommery park, around Reims. 1916.". Studio stamp on the back, signature lower left. Comes from the sale of the Louis Agricol Montagné workshop (Avignon, 1879-bParis, 1919) in 2010. A pupil of Paul Saïn and Fernand Cormon, he collaborated in the decoration of the restaurant at the Gare de Lyon Le train bleu. He exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in 1901. He was a member of the group of Thirteen. He was director of the School of Fine Arts in Avignon from 1920 to 1928 and curator of the Villeneuve-lès-Avignon museum from 1945 to 1959. His works appear in many French museums (Avignon, Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, Carpentras, Dijon, Troyes, Bernay, Péronne, Grenoble...)
