"Snuffbox 1773 Liège , Sterling Silver, Snuff Box"
Extremely rare Louis XV silver snuffbox with the hallmarks of the Principality of Liège 1773. The master goldsmith's hallmark is practically erased but in the goldsmith's museum of the Château de Seneffe there is an almost identical snuffbox by the goldsmith Jean Winand. Our lovely snuff box is engraved with plant and rock patterns all over its surface. On the lid is engraved a hunting scene of a valiant dog attacking a deer. On the front of the snuffbox you can see the representation in relief of this same dog at rest serving as little handle of the snuffbox as they are often found on the snuffboxes of Liège. Its interior is still covered with a thick vermeil in very good condition. This little marvel weighs 90 grams.
