Essentially animal painter.
Child familiar with dogs and horses that he draws perfectly at the age of four,
Renouncing his studies and the path traced by the family tradition, the tannery, he went to Paris, and devoted himself entirely to his passion, painting.
The year 1925 was the year of two major projects. The first: at ruhlmann's request, Roger Reboussin participated with the sculptors Bourdelle, Pompon, Joseph Bernard, with the painter Jean Dupas and the master upholsterer Emile Gaudissard, in the realization of the Pavilion Hotel du collectionneur for the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts.
The second: the collector Louis Fricatelle appealed for the decoration of his "Villa Le Caruhel" (Etable sur Mer) to Mathurin Méheut, Isidore Odorico and Roger Reboussin.
The latter spends a month at sea in the sponsor's boat for an observation of gannets above the waves from where he will compose the mural of the large living room.
In 1931, he contributed to a new publication, L'oiseau et la revue française d'ornithologie with an article that, in the first issue, linked art and ornithology: Le mimétisme au point de vue du peintre.

Then it was in 1935 that, Roger Reboussin being at Le Crotoy in the Bay of Somme with Marcel Jeanson, the two men decided together on the vast census by painting all the birds of France in order to constitute a large book.
Over thirty years, Reboussin will make 388 gouaches, now in the collections of the Museum of Hunting and Nature in Paris.

Salon des Artistes Français, Paris, from 1907 to 1914.
Salon des artistes animaliers, Paris, from 1913 to 1939.

Salon d'Automne, Paris, from 1927 (member).
Universal Exhibition, Paris, 1937.

He receives the following awards:
Honorable mention, Salon des artistes français de 1907.
Gold medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1937, Paris.
