"Child's Chair From Mundus"
This small child's chair is signed by the manufacturer Mundus. At the end of the 19th century, Austria-Hungary had many bentwood furniture factories, the most famous of which was Thonet, with quality pieces but whose abundant production still makes them very easy to find. When its patents expired in 1869, competitors entered this market, including the Mundus factory in Vienna, also of excellent quality but whose more modest production makes them much more difficult to find today, especially this rare curved model with three turned rods, in this condition and with its original label. The height of the seat is 31.5 cm.
Thonet and Mundus merged in 1921.
