"Antique China Fan, Cabriolet Type Fan, Bone, Late 19th Century"
Antique China fan. The mount is carved and pierced bone. Double leaf painted with terrace scenes with 32 characters on one side and 33 characters on the other. The clothes of these characters are made of silk cut and glued on the leaf, the heads are also cut and glued. It measures 11,22 inches long and 21,06 inches in diameter when opened. Note one of the master stick slightly twisted over time, visible in the photos. China, Canton, for export to Europe, circa 1880.
