"Orientalist Sculpture Pendants Late Nineteenth"
Goldsheider could have been the author. This superb pair of terracotta wall dishes will remain anonymous, only one label mentions a distribution store. The orientalism that was advocated at the end of the 19th century makes us dream. Especially since the country mentioned no longer exists: Nubia is under the waves. A young Nubian couple is represented in relief against a background of palm trees, the medina and even a pyramid. The young woman seems resigned and takes the water so much that she broke her pitcher. His companion, does not seem embarrassed to be assigned to the same task. The costumes are an elegant witness to the finery of the time. I only dusted them off, the small marks of time reinforce the old patina of these dishes.
