Large porphyry-style plaster bust representing Marcus Junius Brutus, known as Brutus.
Model after the original bust in white marble kept in the Capitoline Museum in Rome.
Magnificent trompe l'oeil patina in imitation of porphyry.
Inscription on the front: Brutus the Younger - Musei Capitolini (?).

Brutus born around 85 BC. J.-C. in Rome and died on October 23, 42 BC. J.-C. in Philippi, is a Roman senator, jurist and philosopher of the end of the Roman Republic, son of Servilia, the mistress of Julius Caesar, to whom he carried the last blow, by stabbing him on March 15, 44 BC. J.-C.
