Adolphe RIVET Round-shaped box, in solid silver and vermilion interior. It is decorated on the lid, with a young woman wrapped in a transparent veil, holding in her hand a small branch, from the hanging ramage. Thistle flowers on the body of the box. Signed lower center. Encrypted Period 1900 Adolphe RIVET (1855-1925) Both sculptor and medalist, he trained at the School of Fine Arts in Paris, before being able to exhibit at the Salon des Artistes Français. He is best known for his great monuments, such as the statues of Fénelon or Montaigne, in Perigueux. He will shine as a medalist for many cities.
