Short saber of grenadier Suisse of canton BERNE , Louis XVI period, XVIII°. Brass mount with three-pointed long tail cap guard and thumb. Filigree wrist, curved quillon towards the blade. Curved blade with fullers on the back and flat back with 1 edge and counter edge of 15 cm. Blade engraved on both sides with a Bear . Cutting edge bearing traces of shocks towards the tip. Leather scabbard with 2 brass fittings, small sphere dart and button on studs. Total length: 81 cm Length without scabbard: 77.5 cm Blade length: 64.5 cm Width of the blade at the heel: 3.3 cm Good condition of conservation and use, see photos.
